Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13256006219

Snapshots of the Past offers this Black, size L Wall Art reproduction of a historic print showing the Memorial Arch and State House in Hartford, Connecticut. The print measures 16" x 20". The company, founded in 2001, reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

It says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints, has sold to over 200 bookstores and other retailers as well as tens of thousands of online customers, and was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008. Its prints use archival paper and pigmented inks. Lithography was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural heritage. The range also includes historical posters for Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day, and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
