Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art L sku-13286661444

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art is a Black, size L reproduction print of a full-length portrait of Maya Angelou facing front, dressed for her part in the Caribbean Calypso Festival. It measures 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. These reproductions use fine-art and archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The company's range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display or gifts. SKU: sku-13286661444. UPC: 465659786574.
