The company reproduces maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives using fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library's American Memory pilot project began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections about American cultural history. Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations.
