Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, Black, sku-13276811366, UPC 462626758329. This 16" x 20" historic print shows Margaret Bourke-White in a head-and-shoulders portrait, facing left outside her home in Darien, Conn. The company's historical maps, photos and prints are reproductions restored from Library of Congress archives and made with archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The company's range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
