Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, SKU sku-13291410024, UPC 468099423344, is a 16 x 20 historic print depicting the making of inlaid pearlwork in Damascus, Syria. The company was founded in 2001 and was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its restored historical maps, photos and prints are sold as home decor.

Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of internet buyers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, allowed inexpensive mass production of poster prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, laying the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last a lifetime and be passed down.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and retro-style prints for homes, studies, workplaces or gifts.
