Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, is listed as sku-13261865259, UPC 464798524481. This 16 x 20 inch historic print shows “Making a landing” at St. Clair Flats, Mich. The company makes restored reproductions of maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online buyers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project, which laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections dealing with American cultural history. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work, or as gifts.
