Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13274064476

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13274064476, UPC 468928493852, is a Black, size L reproduction print titled Major Campbell arguing with Pontiac. It measures 16" x 20". The company's historical maps, photos and prints are restored from Library of Congress archives for home decor.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks, intended to last for generations. The range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. These retro-style prints can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts.
