No rating yet(0 ratings)This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print reproduces a letter drafted by Agnes Meyer concerning Thomas Mann's Thamar, a story based on their friendship. The historic print measures 16" x 20" and is listed in Black, size L. The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from the Library of Congress archives for use as home decor.
Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.
The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections documenting American cultural heritage. The reproduction prints use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks, which the seller says can last a lifetime and be passed down through generations.
The range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts. UPC: 466732541691; SKU: sku-13252773896.
