Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13286154289

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, in Black (sku-13286154289; UPC 467372906062) reproduces a Library of Congress image of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. In the 16" x 20" portrait, she faces forward with a hand on his arm; he faces left, handcuffed. The company restores archival maps, photographs and prints for home decor.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper and pigmented inks, intended to last for generations.

The range includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
