Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13418622125 Print

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13418622125, is a Black, size L reproduction print (UPC 464113857058) showing Joseph Pennell making a drawing of war work. The print measures 18" x 24". The company's historical maps, photographs and prints are restored from Library of Congress archives and reproduced on fine-art archival paper with pigmented inks for long-lasting display.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, plus tens of thousands of internet buyers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.
