Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13288858287

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, in Black and size L, is a 16" x 20" historic reproduction print showing John Hayes Hammond at W.H. [i.e. White House, Washington, D.C.], dated 11/6/24. The company restores images from Library of Congress archives and prints reproductions on archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history. The range includes historical maps, photos, holiday posters and early aerial city views for display or gifts. SKU: sku-13288858287. UPC: 461778673702.
