Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13622474744

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13622474744, is a Black, size L historical print with UPC 466699309891. The 16 x 20 print depicts John Brush Hempstead, son of New York Giants president Harry Hempstead and grandson of former Giants president John T. Brush.

The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that work laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections about American cultural history. The company also offers retro-style posters, including holiday images and early aerial city views, for display at home or work and as gifts.
