Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art Print sku-13247211725

Snapshots of the Past offers this Black, size L Wall Art print of Jasper Monument and the De Soto Hotel in Savannah, Ga., measuring 16" x 20". Its historical reproductions are restored from Library of Congress archives and printed on archival paper with pigmented inks for long-lasting display.

Founded in 2001, the company says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

The description places these prints alongside historical maps, photos and posters, including old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, as décor or gifts. It also notes that lithography was invented in 1796 and that the Library of Congress launched the American Memory pilot in 1989.

That pilot laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, begun in 1995 to digitize selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. SKU sku-13247211725; UPC 467374132995.
