Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art L sku-13254324058

Snapshots of the Past Black L Wall Art, sku-13254324058 (UPC 465130954157), is a 16" x 20" reproduction of a June 1921 image of Jack Dempsey at his training camp. The title describes a possible manager waving from the camp porch. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives for display at home or work.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography, invented in 1796, was among the printing techniques that made inexpensive mass production of posters possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, along with early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The retro-style posters are also offered as gifts.
