Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art L sku-13237616198

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print depicts an illustrated Civil War Union envelope titled "Southern Ass-Stock-Crazy." The print measures 16" x 20"; the listing identifies it as Black, size L. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks.

It says those materials allow prints to last a lifetime and be passed down. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers.

It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history.

The company's prints include old holiday posters and early aerial views of cities for display at home or work or as gifts. SKU sku-13237616198; UPC 465215644799.
