Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections emphasizing American cultural history. The company uses archival paper and pigmented inks and offers retro-style posters for display or gifts, including holiday images and early aerial views of cities.
