Snapshots of the Past Posters L sku-13288408281 Print

Snapshots of the Past sku-13288408281 is a Black, size L poster listed under Posters. The 16" x 20" historic print shows Huntsville, Alabama, from General Logan's head-quarters; UPC 461244907935. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced posters possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The company's retro-style prints include Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

They are offered for display at home or work and as gifts.
