POWERS, PITTSBURGH, PA.” It measures 16" x 20"; SKU: sku-13234900595; UPC: 464486311195. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, which enabled inexpensive mass-produced prints, was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, begun in 1995 to digitize selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage.

The company also offers historical posters, including Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day images and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts.
