Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13284764730

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13284764730, is a Black print in size L with UPC 466446714367. It depicts the Home Industry Foundry at 250 North Water Street in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, and measures 16" x 20".

The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that work laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history. The collection also includes vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of cities such as Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
