Snapshots of the Past HOLMES Wall Art L sku-13209172480

This Snapshots of the Past HOLMES, E.B. historic print is Black Wall Art in size L, measuring 16 x 20 inches. Its SKU is sku-13209172480 and UPC is 467152958595. The company makes restored reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008.

The seller also describes the history behind such prints: lithography was invented in 1796, and the Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot in 1989. That project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

The seller suggests vintage Halloween, Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day posters, along with early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, as examples of prints for a home, study or workplace or as gifts.
