Founded in 2001, the company was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced poster prints possible. In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history.

The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks, intended to last a lifetime and be passed down. The company's range includes holiday posters and early aerial views of cities such as Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts.
