Snapshots of the Past restores historical maps, photos, and prints from the Library of Congress archives for home decor.

Founded in 2001, the company was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of Internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of poster prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complex history of American cultural heritage. Archival paper and pigmented inks make the prints suitable for keeping and passing down through generations.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco. These retro-style posters can be displayed at home, in a study, or at work, or given as gifts. SKU: sku-13256517540. UPC: 466908092354.
