Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art in size L, sku-13208416128, UPC 469528687757, is a historic Henry Henkel print measuring 16 x 20 inches. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos, and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The listing suggests retro prints for a home, study, or workplace, including old Halloween, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day posters or early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco. It also suggests them as gifts.
