Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13264159116

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13264159116 and UPC 462526106848, is a Black, size L historic print of Henry Dana Washburn, 1832-1871, measuring 16" x 20". The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online buyers. It was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, a printing method that made inexpensive mass production possible, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural heritage.

These prints use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The range includes vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of cities, offered as home or workplace decor and gifts.
