The company restores reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. The source notes that lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections about American cultural history. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are described as lasting for generations.

The source suggests retro posters, including holiday posters and early aerial city views, as decor or gifts.
