Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13298262309 Print

This Health Week Headquarters historic print from Snapshots of the Past is 16" x 20" Wall Art, listed in Black and size L (sku-13298262309; UPC 467060160042). The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range also includes vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
