Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L print sku-13264309393

This 16" x 20" historical print shows a group of provost guards at the headquarters of the Army of the Potomac. Snapshots of the Past offers reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. The company was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Other prints in the collection include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Retro-style prints can be displayed at home or at work and given as gifts. This Wall Art print is listed as Black, size L. SKU: sku-13264309393. UPC: 468256403240.
