Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art | sku-13261665775

This Black, size L Wall Art from Snapshots of the Past is a historic print of Geo. F. Baker and son, measuring 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress archives for home display. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced poster prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The collection includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The retro-style prints can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts. SKU: sku-13261665775. UPC: 461414358321.
