Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print, size L, color Black (sku-13288812420; UPC 467340354857), reproduces Gen. George Washington’s account with the United States, written by him from 1775 to 1783. The print measures 16 inches x 20 inches. The company, founded in 2001, makes reproductions restored from Library of Congress archives using archival paper and pigmented inks.

It was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints; its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, a method that enabled inexpensive mass production of prints, was invented in 1796.

A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history. The company also offers historical maps, photographs and other prints, including vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of cities.
