Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13254524898

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art, size L, sku-13254524898, UPC 469399646624, is a 16 x 20 inch reproduction of the historic print “Garibaldi. Entrée à Naples,” lithographed by Ratellier & Co., New York. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions with archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass-produced prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. Archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to help the prints last for generations.

The company's range includes vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of cities such as Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
