Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, L 16 x 20 | sku-13232621883

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art in size L is a 16" x 20" historic G. Ferrero print. SKU: sku-13232621883. UPC: 466786691250. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives for home decor. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival papers with pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The collection includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The prints can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
