Snapshots of the Past Historic Wall Art L sku-13237716088

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art is a Black, size L reproduction titled 'Fun making by the earthquake refugees - a temporary home, San Francisco, Cal.' The historic print measures 16" x 20" and is made with archival paper and pigmented inks. The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints; its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, which enabled inexpensive mass production of posters, was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The company's range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
