Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13245458315, UPC 466881588738, is a Black print in size L. It depicts the U.S. Sanitary Commission headquarters in Fredericksburg, Virginia, at 16" x 20". The brand reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives on fine art and archival paper.

Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers.

The company was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage.

The brand also offers older holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco as prints for homes, studies and workplaces or as gifts.
