Snapshots of the Past Historic Wall Art L sku-13300765258

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13300765258, UPC 466924463640, is a Black, size L historic print of Frances E.W. Harper in a three-quarter length portrait, standing and facing front. It measures 16" x 20". The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives for home decor.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of poster prints.

A 1989 Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks, materials described as suitable for prints kept for a lifetime and passed down through generations. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

The retro-style prints are intended for homes, studies and workplaces and can be given as gifts.
