Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13275554699 Print

Snapshots of the Past offers "Forêt Vierge - Amérique" as a 16" x 20" historic reproduction print. This Black Wall Art is listed in size L under SKU sku-13275554699 and UPC 468020322029. The company restores maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and uses fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The collection includes historical maps and photos, old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

The prints can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
