Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art Print sku-13288658038

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print depicts the first quarter of the 1943 Kentucky Derby from the infield. The Black, size L listing measures 16 by 20 inches. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections documenting American cultural history.

The company's retro prints include holiday posters and early aerial views of cities, intended for display at home or work or as gifts. SKU sku-13288658038; UPC 466948235698.
