Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13270013898

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, color Black, sku-13270013898, UPC 464313826885, is a 16" x 20" historic print of an aerial view of the First Provisional Air Brigade camp at Langley Field, Hampton, Virginia, credited to the U.S. Army Air Service Photographic School.

The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives using fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The company's range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
