Snapshots of the Past Black L Wall Art sku-13280313445

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art, size L, sku-13280313445, UPC 466487491364, reproduces a historic image of Finch House ironwork at 301 North Joachim Street in Mobile, Alabama. The print measures 16" x 20". The company's historical maps, photos and prints are restored from Library of Congress archives and reproduced on fine art and archival paper.

Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. The company's background notes that lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

It also cites the Library of Congress American Memory pilot project of 1989, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program begun in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco; the prints can be displayed at home or at work or given as gifts.
