Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13302457698

This Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art print, size L, depicts the exterior of the Siam (Thailand) exhibit building at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri. It measures 16 by 20 inches. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The company's catalog also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts. SKU: sku-13302457698. UPC: 468287383382.
