Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13232921638

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art is a Black, size L reproduction print of Emily Newell Blair, measuring 16 x 20 inches. SKU: sku-13232921638; UPC: 465810537595. The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions on archival paper with pigmented inks, intended to last a lifetime and be passed down.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

The source also notes that lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage.

The company's other subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Its retro-style prints can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
