Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, Black L | sku-13254601572

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art, size L, SKU sku-13254601572 and UPC 469286387968, is a 16" x 20" reproduction print of the Elizabeth George House ironwork at 159 Monroe Street in Mobile, Alabama. The company, founded in 2001, reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from the Library of Congress archives.

It was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, a printing technique that enabled inexpensive mass production of posters, was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The collection includes vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work, or as gifts.
