Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13242664711

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13242664711, is a Black, size L reproduction print titled “Earthquake victims. Costa Rica,” measuring 16" x 20". UPC: 461958640654. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and produces reproductions on fine-art archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage.

The company also offers historical posters and early aerial views as decor or gifts. Its archival prints are intended to last for generations.
