Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13648612694

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13648612694, UPC 468841076934, is a Black, size L reproduction print measuring 16 x 20 inches. The title identifies the image as a head-and-shoulders portrait of Dr. Bradford Washburn, director of the Boston Museum of Science and scientific leader of an expedition to climb Mt. Kennedy.

The company's historical maps, photos, and prints are restored from Library of Congress archives and made with archival paper and pigmented inks. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of Internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural heritage. The company's range includes historical posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco.
