The company restores reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives, using fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, a technique that enabled inexpensive mass production of prints, was invented in 1796.

A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The company's retro prints also include holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, intended for display at home or work or as gifts.
