This Black Wall Art print from Snapshots of the Past is size L, measures 16 x 20 inches and depicts Dombey & son, with F.O.C. Darley credited as fecit and S.A. Schoff as sc. The brand restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives as reproductions for home decor.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history.

These reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. SKU: sku-13287803503. UPC: 462846009843.
