The Dept. of Labor print is listed as “same as 2699” and shows a training service view of the General Electric machine shop in Fort Wayne; its listed dimensions are 16 x 20 inches. Snapshots of the Past restores historical maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress for home decor.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. These reproductions use archival fine-art paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The prints can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
