Snapshots of the Past reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, the company was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The company's range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial city views for display or gifts. UPC 466026916419; SKU sku-13269713679.
