Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13276252008 16 x 20

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13276252008, UPC 462847176766, is listed in Black, size L. This 16 x 20 historic print depicts Continental Baking Co. at the N.Y. World's Fair. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. These reproduction prints use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The company's range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and retro-style prints for homes, studies or workplaces. The prints are also offered as gifts.
