Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13274214970

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art sku-13274214970, UPC 469483842482, is a Black, size L reproduction print measuring 16 x 20 inches. It depicts the coat of arms granted to Hernando Cortes by Emperor Charles V, drawn from the 5th sheet of the grant.

The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, a technique that enabled inexpensive mass-produced prints, was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerned with American cultural heritage.

The company's range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, offered as decor or gifts.
