Snapshots of the Past Historic Wall Art L sku-13257320660

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, is a 16" x 20" historic print of G.H. Clevenger, professor. SKU sku-13257320660; UPC 465546570088. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress American Memory pilot project began in 1989 and laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations.

Available subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Retro-style posters can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
